Lady Gaga Channels Britney Spears In Crystal Bodysuit

Lady Gaga Channels Britney Spears In Crystal Bodysuit: Lady Gaga channeled Britney Spears when she stepped out in a sparkling bodysuit following the 2013 American Music Awards Sunday (Nov. 24).

Gaga was photographed heading to the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles wearing a nude bodysuit bejeweled with crystals for an after-party following the award show. The 27-year-old rocked two gems in the middle of her head and a thong to complete the outfit, which was reminiscent of the glittering bodywear Spears wore for her 2004 "Toxic" music video.

Spears was completely nude when she donned a similar look nearly 10 years ago. At the time, she wore nothing but a white thong and some strategically placed diamonds. While Gaga's jumpsuit certainly had more material, she still managed to get her point across.

The rhinestone ensemble was the "Applause" singer's second jaw-dropping ensemble of the night. Earlier on Sunday, she looked more like Lady Godiva than Lady Gaga when she arrived at the AMAs in a lavender gown atop a white, human-operated costume horse.

Check out more photos of Gaga's look below.

How to live like Lady Gaga

Before the meat dress, before the sky high heels and before the fame, Lady Gaga was a 4ft 11inch brown-haired girl, bar-hopping her way across the Lower East Side. That’s how her best friend, DJ and Esquire writer Brendan Jay Sullivan, remembers her when they met. In his new book, “Rivington Was Ours: Lady Gaga, The Lower East Side, And The Prime Of Our Lives,” Sullivan relives those moments that took place in the wee hours of the night and the years since. Despite everything, some things have remained the same about Lady Gaga. Sullivan tells Metro five ways to live like Gaga, so you can live out your own fame monster dreams.

Make your own clothes.
“Gaga made all her own clothes in the ‘Just Dance’ video,” Sullivan says. “She bought a disco ball, broke it, took the mirrors off and made a disco ball bra. That same audacity of saying, ‘I’m not going to shop for this, I’m going to make my own outfits’ — she still acts like that.” Reflecting bras aren’t your thing? Find steps to make clothes you want to wear by searching “DIY Clothes” on Pinterest. It’s a black hole of endless ideas that will help you reinvent your entire wardrobe.
Have a go-to bar.
For Lady Gaga and Sullivan, that was Stanton Social, and later St. Jerome (now closed). “That was our clubhouse. You walked in and everyone knew each other,” says Sullivan. “You know that feeling when you walk into a bar and you feel like everyone’s staring at you? It’s because they assume they know you from somewhere.”
Celebrate small victories.
Even if your long-term goals don’t involve hatching on stage from a giant egg, dreams don’t come true overnight. Nobody knows this better than Lady Gaga and Sullivan. “Success then was when I got a story published in a magazine that only 1000 copies would get printed, or if Gaga had a show or was getting studio time,” Sullivan remembers. “Then it was, ‘Oh my God, the record label wants to fly me out to do a video and I want you to come with me.’”
Drink this:
1/2 lemon, muddled
1/4 lime, muddled
1 deli packet of sugar
1 oz. triple sec
2 oz. Sauza Hornitos
Shaken and served on the rocks in a pint glass
It’s Sullivan and Gaga’s signature drink.
Have a personal mantra.
Lady Gaga and Sullivan share the same one, straight from the Bible: “Therefore you must also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming to you at an hour you do not expect.” “To us, it means, forget your expectations. Just be ready,” he says.
Brendan Jay Sullivans’ top Lower East Side spots:
Stanton Social, 99 Stanton St.
“It’s still my favorite restaurant!”
Pianos, 158 Ludlow St.
“Pianos is the most underappreciated restaurant in LES. People don’t realize they can go there in the afternoon or night and get a great $9 tuna steak.”
Against Nature, 159 Chystie Street
“The guy who opened this suit shop wrote a book called ‘I am Dandy,’ which I always thought was pretty cool.”

Lady Gaga on changing her hair three times a day, ARTPOP and fame’s negative energy

With ARTPOP available now, we grabbed a few minutes with Lady Gaga to discuss the hype — and the costume changes.
Metro: So we’re guessing art, pop and culture are influences in your life?
Lady Gaga: And they blend together. It’s like saying that you and me can be together, or me and my fans—we can all be together in one space and live despite differences or colors. Pop and art are not in conflict with culture; they are part of each other. So the intention of the album was put art culture in pop music, a throwback to Andy Warhol.

Give us three words to describe ARTPOP.
Hate, love and sensuality.
Reviews have been a bit harsh.
The reviews do not bother me, but the rumors or gossip do. Fame provokes a negative energy that causes instability in me. But I am a woman facing something new every day and, despite constant attacks to me, there is always something good, like my little monsters, who are always there.
The makeovers — are they a disguise? Some type of shield?
Yes, I have many costumes (laughs). That is Lady Gaga. I’m always on the defensive in my professional side. I always wear different clothes and change my outfit to feel stronger. Depending on the day, I am the person I am. If one day I feel weak I will change my hair three times and I will feel like a superwoman. It doesn’t matter the color of hair—it’s what makes me feel like a strong woman.

Lady Gaga is thinking about the future, and that future involves starting a family.
“I want to have a ton of kids, actually. I think at least three,” she says during a SiriusXM town hall, likening her prospective offspring to her current fans, called little monsters.

“To be honest, having my own kids will be like having three little monsters with me all the time. They probably won’t be fans. They’ll probably, like, hate my music, who knows,” admits. “I want to live a family life. I grew up with a very strong family and I just cannot imagine not having a normal nuclear family.”

Lady Gaga ‘ARTPOP’ album review

Lady Gaga ‘ARTPOP’ album review:

Lady Gaga ARTPOP
Lady Gaga ‘ARTPOP’ album review
This is an iconic album cover for a not-quite iconic album.
The expectations for “ARTPOP,” Lady Gaga’s first full album of new material in two years, were almost as high as the singer recently admitted to being. (She told radio host Elvis Duran earlier this week that during a period of “pot addiction” she was smoking 15 to 20 joints per day).
It may be because in 2013, the way to release an album is to drop it on fans with very little warning. Where some of 2013′s best albums, like “Yeezus” or “Reflektor,” came with scarce and cryptic details leading up to the release, Gaga surprisingly went the traditional route, leaking major spoilers to her little monsters almost every step of the way.
That said, “ARTPOP” almost delivers. Almost. On its own it’s a fine dance pop album, but this is Gaga we’re talking about and there are expectations.
She begins singing in a spooky voice against a spastic acoustic guitar and a twangy electric guitar. The first words we hear her sing on this first song, “Aura” are, “I killed my former and left her in the trunk off Highway 10.” There are howls in the background and the guitar and voice seem to drift in and out of various states of consciousness before the dancey synth drums that define much of Gaga’s work kick in.
This is such a great, strong opening that it almost seems like Gaga is finally ready to deliver musically on the weirdness she presents visually. She killed her former? So the dance diva is gone and she’s reinvented herself? Awesome! This could be really interesting!
But then the song breaks into a “Do you wanna see me naked, lover” refrain that basically ruins everything she had already established. She didn’t kill her former. She just kept her former silent for the first 20 seconds of the song.
Towards the end of that song, a robotic voice recites “Dance, sex, ARTPOP, tech” and that’s basically the chemical breakdown of this album. And if you take the album at that level, it works great. It’s an arty pop album that features songs about sex that you’re supposed to dance to.
However, the most effecting moment comes towards the end of the album and it doesn’t include any of these tenets. The song “Dope” will likely be a fourth single from this album this spring and have a really powerful video. Her voice has never sounded so honest and raw, and this deserves to be a sleeper hit.
“I need you more than dope,” she sings against fuzzy synth bass and ballady chords that middle schoolers are probably already asking their piano teachers to teach them.
At their best, the songs on “ARTPOP” are banging dance numbers with skewering commentary and funny wordplay (“Swine” and “G.U.Y.”), but at their worst some of these songs feel like they should have Cher singing them on a boat or be playing in a strip club scene in a “Beverly Hills Cop” movie (“Sexxx Dreams” and “Mary Jane Holland”).
Criticisms aside, all of these songs really lend themselves to live performance. The lyrics are extremely quotable and the beats are extremely fist-pumpable. To say nothing of how cool the album cover will look as a concert T-shirt. And as Gaga clearly states in one of the album’s first singles, she lives for the applause. Maybe that’s why she leaked “ARTPOP” a little bit at a time, she couldn’t stand the silence of a sneak attack.

Lady Gaga is worried Perez Hilton wants to ‘blow himself up’

Lady Gaga is worried Perez Hilton wants to ‘blow himself up’:

Lady Gaga is worried Perez Hilton wants to ‘blow himself up’
Lady Gaga doesn’t want Perez Hilton next door to her.
Lady Gaga’s ongoing feud with blogger Perez Hilton shows no sign of cooling, with the singer revealing that his getting an apartment next to hers in New York has made her very, very nervous.
“Everyone can hate me from afar, but the second you try to move in next door to me, I know you’re getting too close and it’s not safe,” she tells USA Today. “I have lots of security. I get death threats all the time. Some things bring out the New Yorker in me. If you hate someone and you want to move next door to me, the only thing I can think of is that you’re moving in because you want to blow yourself up. There’s thousands and millions of apartments in New York. You don’t need to move in next door to me.”
The entire feud is a sordid affair but the CliffsNotes version is this: The two former friends got into a Twitter war after Hilton first trashed Gaga’s single “Applause” and apparently made fun of Gaga’s hip injury. ”Still have the text Perez sent me of me in a wheelchair with the words KARMA written across + Madonna pointing a gun at me,” she tweeted. Then things apparently escalated with Hilton looking at apartments in Gaga’s building for his upcoming move from Los Angeles to New York. ”STAY AWAY FROM ME + MY FAMILY YOU ARE SICK TRYING TO RENT AN APARTMENT IN MY BUILDING TO STALK ME. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!” she tweeted.

Hilton started to get death threats from Gaga’s fans so he posted the following statement on his website.
I have long had plans to return to New York City more permanently. New York was my home for 6 years in the mid 90s, before I moved to Los Angeles. I also lived here for 3 months last year while doing an off Broadway show. I’m a new father and I am primarily focused on my family and where we will be most happy. I love New York and that is where me and my growing family want to call home right now. Sunday, my realtor showed us a list of possible apartments to rent. I learned only after the fact that Lady GaGa lives in one of the buildings we looked at, and she was across the country in Los Angeles when I viewed that building. After a day of innocent house-hunting, I am devastated and my heart hurts that my former very good friend, a person I used to call my “wifey” and traveled the world with, is making very public and very untrue allegations about me on Twitter. While it is still too painful for me to go into detail about why I chose to no longer make her a part of my life, I will say that I am a critic and not a “stalker”. Any allegation that I am stalking her, based on a day of house hunting with my baby boy and my mother, is utterly false, defamatory and now appears to be putting me and my family in danger. I will continue to be a critic – in a way that is not mean or involves name-calling, and I will continue to have an opinion and talk about music and songs, like GaGa’s “Applause”. I hope her fans stop sending me death threats, as the suggestion that I pose a danger to Lady GaGa is preposterous. If her fans want to send a message of support to Lady GaGa, they should buy her music. Notwithstanding my feelings about our personal relationship, I do wish Lady GaGa happiness and continued success and I assure you my family house hunting has nothing to do with her.

Drama! How will this end? Who cares when you have an album out? Gaga has been making the rounds lately in support of her new album “ART POP.” You can read our full review: here.

Lady Gaga chats with Howard Stern about threesomes

Lady Gaga chats with Howard Stern about threesomes:
Lady Gaga is still making more money than you'll ever see in your entire life. Unless, of course you're Justin Bieber and you happened to Google yourself and come across this article. If that's the case, then yes, Justin, you'll see this much money in your life. But seriously, kid, stop Googling yourself. Credit: Getty Images

Lady Gaga likes to keep an open mind, even when it comes to her relationship with Taylor Kinney. When asked by Howard Stern if she’d be open to letting another woman join them in bed, she says, “That sounds like fun!”
But Stern couldn’t get her to go on the record as to whether she and Kinney have already given that a try.
“You know what? I’ve spoken a lot about my Taylor and I don’t want to kiss and tell too much. I’m a little bit more of a lady than that,” she says. “Here’s the thing: I’m not the type of person that’s having sex all the time with lots of random people. I don’t do that. I’m in a monogamous relationship, we’re having a good time, we’ve been together for a while. If it were to come up, it comes up.”
And as happy as Gaga and Kinney are, they’re in no hurry to tie the knot.

Lady Gaga Slams Her Own Glamour Cover, Calls Out Damaging Use Of Photoshop

Lady Gaga Slams Her Own Glamour Cover, Calls Out Damaging Use Of Photoshop: Lady Gaga may dress however she pleases in real life, but even she isn't immune to the clever hand of Photoshop on her magazine photos.

At Glamour's 2013 Women of the Year Awards on Monday, the December Glamour cover girl accepted her award with a sharp critique of her own recent Glamour photos. Speaking onstage at Carnegie Hall, Lady Gaga said that, like fellow honoree Malala Yousafzai, she was going to use her voice to speak up about her cover.

"I felt my skin looked too perfect. I felt my hair looked too soft," said the star. "I do not look like this when I wake up in the morning... I don't even look like this," referring to her wild wig and makeup for the evening.

Speaking slowly and measuredly, Gaga made it clear that the way covers like hers are tweaked and smoothed has damaging effects on the readers who see them. She urged the young people listening to "fight back against the forces that say you have to be beautiful," and she also called for the publications themselves to change:

"It is fair to write about the change in your magazines. But what I want to see is the change on your covers... When the covers change, that's when culture changes."

Gaga's outspoken critique was a bold move, given that she was receiving an award from the very magazine she was critiquing. But the overarching message of her lengthy speech was acceptance, particularly of people's quirks, tastes and appearances. She herself has been the victim of Photoshop before; most memorably, Vogue took heat last fall for digitally slimming Lady Gaga's figure on the September 2012 cover.

She didn't speak out loudly against the blatant use of airbrushing back then; but she used her platform at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards to do so last night. See the cover in question below. Do you think stars like Gaga calling for change could finally made a difference in the magazine industry?

Lady Gaga Dresses Like An Old Lady, Because Sure, Why Not?

Lady Gaga Dresses Like An Old Lady, Because Sure, Why Not?: Every day might as well be Halloween for Lady Gaga, so when she decided to turn the clock ahead a few decades with her latest outfit, we just had to roll our eyes and check "elderly couture" off the list of her inevitable getups.

The pop star was spotted looking well beyond her 27-years as she stepped out of her Midtown Manhattan apartment on Monday (Nov. 11). She was wearing a lavender Prabal Gurung skirt suit, and a white yarn wig piled high atop her head, which looked like it might have been made out of a common kitchen mop. Old Lady Gaga finished off the look, not with orthopedic slippers as one might have guessed, but with sky-high lavender platforms and a wacky pair of bifocals, with one lens hanging below her eye.
